ATEM 2006 is the 3rd International Workshop on Metamodels, Schemas, Grammars, and Ontologies for Reverse Engineering. It will be held in Genoa on October 1, with MoDELS 2006.Participan de los comités de organización y programación del workshop, universidades europeas (entre ellas el Politécnico de Valencia), de Estados Unidos y Canadá.
The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers from different communities to study the use of meta technologies in the context of reverse engineering and software evolution. ATEM is specifically focused on meta technologies in a generalized sense of "language descriptions": Metamodels, Schemas, Grammars and Ontologies.
Model Driven Engineering (MDE) as the "next software engineering paradigm" must take into account the evolution of existing (legacy) software. After all, the software industry is still code-centric and the huge amount of existing software cannot be ignored. Recovery of models from existing assets through reverse engineering is a key challenge in software engineering today. It is commonly assumed that software reverse engineering (SRE) must become an integral part of any evolutionary software engineering process.
